Big4 is a glamorous aspiration for budding CA's and other experts. However anyone who has faced a "Busy Season" at a Big4 (mine was years ago at Deloitte & Touche-CSL) knows how precious every second is as the rush towards impossible deadlines trip up the best laid plans of mice and men.
Amit's BIG4 client wanted to understand exactly WHAT is the best way to develop rapport in x-cultural teams and ensure that personal challenges do not exacerbate due to communication misunderstandings.
They were fascinated by my experience in UK, USA, UAE and India WITH audit, accounting forensics, coaching Start-ups and entrepreneurship with x-border teams. Amit is an Industry leader heading HR & training at Indian MNC's, with outstanding co-facilitation skills. He had designed the intervention and as part of it, got us as domain experts to coach the teams.
During the sessions, the questions and answers ebbed and flowed between creating Trust as a daily discipline between all the levels from Partners down to article clerk up to managing expectations with unreasonable behaviour across all levels.
What emerged as a result of our interactions with each other and also Big4 GDC managers and leaders, is that a tailored 2 day course is sorely required at ALL the Big4's or x-border/x-culture challenged organisations called:
" Trusted Advisor Coaching for CA's, Auditors/Internal Auditors, Investment Advisors & Investigative Due Diligence Professionals . X-Cultural training in matrix'd environments within globally dispersed teams "
The 2 day format uses appreciative enquiry, active listening and speaking skills at all times.
